Professional Beach Lifeguard Services in Seaside, Florida

The Town of Seaside, Florida has partnered with the South Walton Fire District (SWFD) to provide professional beach lifeguard services for Seaside homeowners and vacation guests beginning March 11, 2025. This partnership reflects Seaside’s ongoing commitment to community safety and proactive beach management.

Following the closure of the Van Ness Butler Regional Beach Access in 2024, Seaside recognized the need to enhance on-duty lifeguard coverage along its shoreline. By working directly with SWFD, Seaside ensures that trained, certified beach lifeguards are present to help prevent and respond to emergencies in this highly visited area.

2025 Beach Safety Season Hours

  • Daily Lifeguard Coverage: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Season: 2025 Beach Safety Season (with extended hours during peak periods)
  • Location: Seaside beach access points within the Town of Seaside

Guests are strongly encouraged to swim near a staffed lifeguard tower and observe the official beach flag warning system posted each day. Flag conditions provide important information about surf and rip current risk.

A Community-Focused Safety Initiative

Seaside’s partnership with South Walton Fire District reflects the town’s dedication to protecting both residents and visitors. By bringing professional lifeguard services directly to Seaside’s beachfront, the community is investing in enhanced prevention, faster emergency response, and greater peace of mind for families enjoying the Gulf.

Beach safety leadership from SWFD, along with collaboration from Seaside Community Development Corporation, has made this agreement possible—strengthening Seaside’s reputation as a thoughtfully managed and guest-focused coastal town.
